Broken umbrellas are a bummer. Having your umbrella break en route to your destination is the icing on the total bumout cake that is a rainy day. This is because a broken umbrella is not only useless, it’s also a lethal weapon. When forced to choose between getting soaked to the bone or stabbing someone in the eye with an exposed umbrella spoke, it’s pretty much no contest. Although there are few bigger bummers than murdering 17 strangers on the way to work, one of them happens to be getting your hair wet. Also a bummer: wrestling with an umbrella on a windy day. Not a bummer for children/sort of a bummer for adults: Mary Poppins.
